Project Description
#SNMP (Sharp SNMP) Suite is a free set of SNMP tools based on an open source library for developers who target Microsoft .NET/Novell Mono platforms. It's developed in C# and can be used for VB.NET, Delphi Prism, and more.

History
This project is based on Malcolm Crowe's research on this topic at University of the West of Scotland. You can find the original code written by Malcolm here.

Lex Li started to refine the original code in 2008. After that many other guys contributed to this project, including

Design Aims of #SNMP Library Microsoft .NET Novell Mono
  • Release as open source under LGPL (so can be referenced by both commercial and open source applications).

Design Aims of #SNMP Agent
Design Aims of #SNMP MIB Browser, and MIB Compiler
  • Provide MIB tools that contain basic functionalities for freelance developers who cannot afford those expensive commercial tools.
  • Release as open source under MIT/X11.
    • 1.5 and earlier under BSD (can be used in most applications).

Specification Document
Specification document for #SNMP Suite is still under way. The public draft is available here.

Notice
  1. #SNMP Library can be used in any .NET language, such as VB.NET, Managed C++, Delphi Prism, IronPython, and so on.
  2. SNMP v1/v2c/v3 support is complete.
  3. Solution and project files of #SNMP for both Visual Studio 2005, 2008, and 2010 are provided in the repository.
  4. Sample projects are distributed in source code form only. Please find them in the source code package.
  5. #SNMP MIB Browser and Compiler are Windows only, as they depend on DockPanel Suite.

Source code of #SNMP Library is released under LGPL.
Source code of #SNMP Agent, MIB Browser and MIB Compiler is released under MIT/X11.
